Can Jack Russel Terriers Be All Brown With Only White on Their Paws?

My puppy is very small with short legs. He is all brown with white paws, black ear tips, black face, and black tail tip. The man we bought him from had a Jack Russel Terrier and said it was the father and that the mom is also a JRT but didn’t have her with him.

Yes, JR’ can be combination of colors with not percentage of certain color.
I’ve seen near all white JR’s with just black around 1 eye.
Also there are 2 basic appearances of JR, the short-legged "Parson’s" line, used in Britain for tunnelling out ferrets, vermin etc. and the now longer legged JRs which breeders are now having, trying to breed out the shorter legged orig. JRs.

Hope this help.

I haven’t seen that coloration, but yeah it’s possible, I guess… JRTs have a multitude of different marking patterns.

yes they can look several different ways, it all depends on how the dna stranded together. maybe in past generations there was a different breed mixed in? but all difernt variations are possible.

White should predominate (i.e., must be more than 51% white) with tan, black, or brown markings. Brindle markings are unacceptable.

The Jack Russell though is not a recognised breed within the AKC or the KC, so really anything should go with the Jack’s as long as they are not aggressive…(way too many are)..
